SENIOR CHECK

The Oaklyn Police Department offers a program to senior citizens who are alone or are feeling under the weather.  This program is especially meant to assist those seniors who don't have family in our immediate area who would normally check on them.

Our program works this way.  The senior citizen calls the police department on a daily basis to say hello and to let the department personnel know he or she is feeling well.  On days when the police department does not receive a call for any reason, even if it was just a case of the senior citizen forgetting to call, someone from the department will call the senior citizen's home to make sure everything is alright.  If the police personnel get no answer, a patrol car will be sent to the home of the senior citizen to check on them.

To participate in this Good Neighbor program, please call us at (856) 854-0049.

To participate in this Good Neighbor program, please stop by the Police Department to complete your Vacation Check Program Card or call us at (856) 854-0049.

BICYCLE REGISTRATION

Inevitably there will come a time when a family in Oaklyn will be the victim of a bicycle theft.  While our police department can't possibly prevent every theft from taking place, it can often assist in the recovery of stolen items.  This is accomplished with your assistance when you register your bicycle, giving the department the information necessary to identify the stolen bike.

The police department does not charge any fee for this registration service.  When you come to the police department you should bring the following information:

  • Make, model and type of bicycle

  • Serial number

  • Color
